2018 after-dinner entertainment - Andrew Ryan, Likeable Irish Comedian
Our comedian for 2018, Irishman Andrew Ryan, made his comedy circuit debut in 2008 when he spontaneously entered an open mic contest. Fast-forward to 2018 and he is now one of the most sought after comics, in demand as a headliner and an MC at the biggest comedy clubs and festivals across Ireland and the UK.
His quintessentially Irish storytelling abilities and cheeky, friendly demeanour makes him a natural observational stand up. He performed his debut hour show Ryanopoly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012. Andrew returned to Edinburgh with his critically acclaimed new show Did You Get Here Alright? - a total sell-out with extra dates added.
Andrew has performed stand-up on Russell Howard’s Good News and Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, Comedy Central at The Comedy Store and Alex Zane’s Funny Rotten Scoundrels on London Live. He’s starred on The Blame Game and made his Irish TV debut on The 6 O’clock Show. He is a regular panellist on BBC Radio Manchester and MUTV. Andrew also starred in TalkSport’s viral hit Chelsea Fans Claim To Know About Players That Don’t Exist that has attracted just under 1.5 million views on YouTube.
Andrew recently won Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards. In a hotly contested category, his new show Sure, You Know Yourself won on the night after the awards panel judged him the worthy winner. Over the last couple of years Andrew has built a reputation as reliable awards host. He’s fast becoming in demand for corporate entertainment and definitely one to watch in 2018!
